Copywriting Principles and Hacks

1: Brand New Solution

Remember this, never pitch a commodity.

Eventhough what you offer may be similar, you need to frame it in a way that the solution is “brand new” and stands out from your competitor due to reason 1,2,3 and so on.

This will give the reader new hope that your product could be the solution to their problems.

New=Emotion=Hope.

 

2: You Don’t Have to

Here’s an easy hack.

Understand all your potential customers’ key objections before buying and turn it into a “you dont have to”

For example, let’s say you are selling a fitness program to lose weight, some of your “you don’t have to” could be:

  • You don’t have to cut out pizza completely from your diet….
  • You don’t have to have experience in weight lifting….
  • You don’t have to spend hours in the gym…

By having this in your copy, you will make it seem “easy” for the person to get started.

 

3: Numbers, Numbers, Numbers

We love numbers as it exudes certainty and confidence.

Rather than saying we helped our clients increase their sales….

Add in a number – we helped our clients increase their sales by 58% as compared to the previous year.

Much better.

 

4: Borrow a Giant’s Name

Let’s say you are pitching for investors to invest in your product.

Borrow a giant’s name that is closely related to your product and create a FOMO (Fear of Missing Out).

E.g Don’t miss out this new opportunity to invest in the next Instagram, Whatsapp, Tesla.

If you are selling property in a lesser-known area, find an area where the price has appreciated greatly over the past few years, then use that area as your benchmark/giant name.
